This Week in the News

We begin with reporting on the real threat of worldwide pandemics; continue with European articles about “absurd” American politics; and speak about Britain’s frustration with the European Court of Human Rights and unbiblical “smacking laws” in Britain and elsewhere in Europe.

We focus on events in and pertaining to Germany and Europe, and report on Germany’s and China’s involvement in Africa, with special emphasis on Ethiopia.

Turning to the Middle East, we report on Germany’s activities in that part of the world; as well as the increasing Iranian threat to world peace, stemming to a large extent from a radical and fundamentalist belief in the return of the Mahdi; speaking of Turkey’s dubious role in the region; show that “liberated” Iraq is another powder keg; and so is Syria; and we conclude with an article questioning the kind of “democracy” which “liberated” Egypt is embracing.

This Week in the News

We begin with a sobering reminder of how the Holocaust became reality at a now infamous gathering at Wannsee, a villa in a suburb of Berlin, at which the plans of fifteen men altered the course of history. We report on the “monumental shift” in Egyptian politics as the Muslim Brotherhood gains decisive control. We follow with a report on the shocking violence of bomb attacks in Kano, Nigeria, by a self-proclaimed radical Islamist group called Boko Haram. We note the continuing emergence of Islamic influence in Egypt, Nigeria, Iraq and Syria. Iran’s cat and mouse game with the West remains a brooding story. We note the Croatian vote to join the EU, while German Chancellor Angela Merkel calls for greater power for the EU and end with reports from both Britain and Los Angeles–further marking the downfall of the British and American people.

This Week in the News

What will be the next crisis to strike the nations? We report on the simmering and ever-present rumors concerning the issue of Iran’s attempt to build a nuclear weapon–and its certain consequences. As Eastern Europe becomes more vocal about its unequal status, the EU flexes its control to bring Hungary into line. We note the election as president of the European Parliament, German socialist, Martin Schulz, known for his fiery personality and outspoken viewpoints. We report on the S&P cut of France’s triple A financial rating while Germany maintains its triple A status. Finally, we address the battle over freedom on the Internet, which has gained worldwide attention this week.

This Week in the News

We begin with a “revealing” article on the position of the Obama Administration towards Iran, which reveals nothing… except, that the position seems to be hopelessly confused and inconsistent. We also report on ongoing tensions with Iran. We continue relating American attacks on and mischaracterizations of Europe—especially by Republicans—which will undoubtedly anger the Europeans. We also report on Mitt Romney’s success and a frightening development in the USA, reminiscent of Big Brother activities.

We quote an interesting article about the deteriorating relationship between Britain and continental Europe, as well as Jamaica’s desire to cut ties with the British monarchy. Events like these confirm biblical prophecies about the rise and decline of the once mighty and powerful British Empire, which ruled over the British Commonwealth nations. For more information, please read our free booklets, “The Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord,” and “The Fall and Rise of Britain and America.”

We report on the ongoing scandal surrounding Germany’s President, Germany’s rising prosperity and German desire to get financially and politically involved in North Africa. We conclude with a report on the Doomsday Clock and a remarkable piece about the Catholic Church’s Christmas declarations, which shows that that church seems to publish teachings based on “historical facts,” which it knows or should know to be incorrect.

This Week in the News

Why this paradox in the USA? On the one hand, radical jihadists are apparently permitted to operate unhindered in the USA, according to WorldNetDaily, while on the other hand, President Obama signs a most controversial law (NDAA), which was passed by the American Congress, potentially jeopardizing the freedom and liberty of, arguably, every innocent citizen and lawful resident of the USA (not even to mention all the others around the world who are not American citizens or residents). We are quoting excerpts from an outstanding article by the Huffington Post, which should be read by everyone.

We are publishing a few articles on the outcome of the American Grand Old Party (GOP) caucuses in Iowa; we are hearing of strong voices in Syria, asking for outside military intervention to oust President Assad; and we are told that “Iran is playing with fire,” while it is felt that the USA is engaged in “domestic policy maneuvering” towards Iran, and that the USA and Iran are “playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse.”

Focusing on Europe, Deutsche Welle reminds us that ten years ago, on January 1, 2002, euro notes and coins were formally launched as a common currency in 12 European countries. It also postulates that there is “no euro crisis” and that the euro is strong and robust. Nevertheless, challenges lie ahead for Europe.

We report on the devastations in 2011, the ongoing mysterious death of many birds, and warn of potentially devastating volcanic eruptions in Germany. We conclude with several articles stating that German President, Christian Wulff, is in big trouble, due to problems of his own making. The German press seems to be unanimous in their evaluation: Herr Wulff is the wrong president and should resign.

This Week in the News

We begin with an article addressing NATO’s fear of the revival of Germany and Russia; report on anti-Putin demonstrations in Russia; address the meaning of Iran’s military exercises; speak of the possibility of the rise of a new Egypt with anti-Israeli sentiments; discuss the deteriorating relationship between Israel and Turkey as well as Turkey’s anger with France; report on Ethiopia and the “euro crisis”; and continue with reporting again on controversial new American laws, which may threaten our constitutional rights; and on another request to raise the US debt ceiling.

We conclude with several articles on Christmas, showing its pagan origins and the irresponsible and stupid conduct of parents and governmental officials to keep the lie of Santa Claus alive, while spending exorbitant amounts of money on Christmas celebrations and vacations.

This Week in the News

We begin reporting about frightening developments in the USA, which are threatening our individual freedom and liberty,  while painting the dark prospects of the very end of our democracy. The infliction of total martial law in the USA is no longer a far-fetched fantastic nightmare scenario.

These trends go hand in hand with the realization that the USA is a nation doomed to fall. Sadly, the average American and ambitious politicians are apparently totally oblivious in respect to this inevitable conclusion. The ongoing bickering over the payroll tax for political gain is just one example showing how far our leaders are out-of-touch with the needs of the people. Those who understand the signs of the time are reminded of God’s warning in Isaiah 1:3, 5-6: “The ox knows its owner And the donkey its master’s crib; But Israel does not know, My people do not consider… the whole head is sick, And the whole heart faints. From the sole of your foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it…”

Focusing on Europe and the Middle East, we are reporting on the widening rift between Britain and continental Europe. While Britain has chosen to become an observer and bystander, Europe moves ahead with separate treaties, affecting especially the core European Eurozone member states. We are also speaking of the permanency of the euro; the astonishing economic success of Germany; and concerns that Europe is meddling too much in Israeli matters and that Europe might even militarily intervene in Egypt.

Focusing on the Middle East, we report on the volatile situation in Iraq and Syria. We also address the equally volatile situation in North Korea.

We conclude with two amazing pieces on religion. The first article speaks of witchcraft “trials” in Germany—which were not unlike those in the USA, especially in Salem. The surprising fact is that not only the German Catholic Church was guilty of those horrible crimes, but that the German Protestant Church was also heavily involved with the mass murder of tens of thousands of innocent victims who, under torture, had been falsely accused of witchcraft. The  Bible predicts that a worldwide martyrdom of true Christians lies ahead of us. Our so-called sophisticated “civilized” Western World will soon manifest its devilish proclivities when the circumstances and opportunities are perceived to be “right.” We must never forget that according to Holy Scripture, this present evil world (Galatians 1:4) is ruled and deceived by Satan (Revelation 12:9), the god and ruler of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4; John 14:30). This is THE reason why the world is in the state in which it is. We are not encouraged without reason to pray to God daily: “YOUR Kingdom COME” (Matthew 6:10).

The last article reflects on Catholic errors pertaining to true Christian religion, when addressing the festivals of Christmas and Easter.

This Week in the News

In this issue, we are mainly concentrating on spectacular and wide-ranging developments pertaining to Great Britain. As the Church of God has prophesied and proclaimed for decades, Great Britain will finally be at odds with continental Europe. We have been saying for years that Britain will not join the Eurozone, and that it will ultimately leave or be expelled from the EU. The most recent events show the accuracy of our predictions, which are not based on human imagination, but on biblical prophecies showing that in the not-too-distant future, a military confrontation will ensue between continental Europe and Great Britain.

For more information, please read our free booklets, “Europe in Prophecy” and “The Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord.”

We also encourage you to view some of our recent StandingWatch programs, including “War Between Britain and Germany” and “War Between Britain and Europe”

We want to emphasize that we do not take any position in the matter, but we are just reporting as to what is happening. In previous Current Events sections, we quoted extensively from the British press. In this issue, we are citing primarily European papers to show their take on things. This is not so say that we feel that the EU member states are right and the UK is wrong.   Of course we know that both are wrong, in having ignored the Bible and its teaching of the right way to live and the worship of the true God.  And we know that the continental European nations—and especially the still emerging ten nations or groups of nations—will not really be strongly united culturally, as iron does not mix with clay (Daniel 2:43), but we also know that their unification will be of a powerful economic, political and military nature, which will finally cause them to transfer their authority to a charismatic leader of German descent.

We are also reporting on the European-Russian Summit; the continuing deteriorating relationship between the USA and Europe due to a new controversial US tax law; additional bad news for the USA; repeated threats from Iran; and the Vatican’s goals pertaining to Jerusalem.

This Week in the News

We begin with reporting on the international consensus that Germany must lead to solve the European debt crisis, and that Germany is perceived to be the only country that can do so. Grudgingly, France is submitting to Germany‘s lead. At the same time, Britain comes under sharp attacks for allegedly sabotaging EU unification, thereby “infuriating” her allies.

Britain’s “younger” brother, the USA (as the Bible treats him), is coming under increased pressure and is facing threats of isolation. Apart from “Obama’s Culture of Corruption,” 33 leaders from across Latin America and the Caribbean formed a new bloc, including every nation in the hemisphere except the USA and Canada. Afghanistan demands of the USA to stop their very successful night raids; Israel is offended by some of Hillary Clinton’s comments; and Iran claims that they shot down a highly sophisticated and sensitive drone. The USA confirmed that Iran is in possession of the missing drone, without admitting that Iran shot it down. We are also discussing the religious beliefs of the American President and his most successful Republican challengers, pointing out that their beliefs and practices are not in harmony with the Bible.

Turning again to Britain, we see that Iran’s anger with their former colonial “conqueror” is not abating, and while Iran suffered a major setback in its nuclear program—which might have bought the world a little time before the outbreak of a devastating war in the Middle East—we see that Israel has every reason to feel threatened by the developments in Egypt.

We conclude with reporting on events in Russia. Even though Putin’s party suffered a major electoral setback, it still received almost 50% of the votes (apparently with the help of major election fraud and corruption), and it is also still fairly certain that Putin will be the next Russian President. Given Putin’s ambitions of creating an undemocratic Russian empire, this cannot be good news for the West.

This Week in the News

We report on the fragile and deteriorating relationship between Pakistan and the USA and the continuing isolation of the state of Israel in lieu of frightening developments in Iran and the revolutions and rebellions in Arab and African nations, including Egypt, Syria and Morocco.

We specifically focus on the fight for the survival of the euro and the Eurozone; the resurgence of Italy; the consensus that Germany and Angela Merkel must be the savior for Europe’s debt crisis; and the plans to create separate agreements with perhaps “ten core Eurozone member states” or European “groups of nations.”

We conclude with reports about the omission of God in the president’s Thanksgiving Day radio address; and the drastic changes in the Catholic Mass.

Even though all of these topics are diverse, they have in common that biblical prophecies are being fulfilled in all of these areas. We should be able to see more and more how the climaxing event of the Great Tribulation is fast approaching.
