Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

Please note that we are requesting anyone who is interested in attending the 2015 Feast of Tabernacles with us in the USA or in Germany to contact us with your request.

“Better Off Now?” is the title of the sermon presented by Kalon Mitchell last Sabbath. Here is a summary:

When we become baptized and a member of the Church, how does our life change? Does it change for the better or worse? A lot depends on our attitude and how we look at life. Are we better off now that we have become members of the Body of Christ?

“No Escape from Death,” is the title of the sermonette presented by Norbert Link this past Sabbath. Here is a summary:

We do not know when we will die, but we do know that we will die. Death is inescapable, and so we need to be prepared. How will we die? Will our day of death be better than our day of birth? Will we die the death of a righteous person? Will we be blessed in death? Will death have lost its sting for us? Will the crown of life await us?

“Was ist das Malzeichen des Tieres?” is the title of this week’s German sermon. In English, the title is: “What is the Mark of the Beast?”

Global Trailer 24 – “Baptism – A Requirement for Salvation,” has been presented by Pastor Brian Gale. Here is a summary:

We have presented in this booklet the biblical proof that water baptism through immersion is a necessary requirement for salvation. Without it, there is no promise in the Bible of receiving God’s Holy Spirit, and without God’s Spirit dwelling in us, we are not true Christians, and God will not grant us His gift of everlasting life in His Kingdom.

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

Final agreement with the Hilton Garden Inn has been reached for observing the Feast of Tabernacles in Pismo Beach, California, for 2015! We will announce steps for making reservations, shortly–this will also be posted on our website. In addition, for both our US and Templin, Germany, locations, only very modest price changes have been added since last year.

A new AufPostenStehen clip has been produced by Johanna Link. This is presented in German by Mike Link.

“New Year’s Celebrations in Honor of Pagan Gods?,” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Pagans observed New Year’s on January 1 to honor their god Janus and the deified Julius Caesar. Christianity adopted the pagan celebrations in honor of Christ and “Saint Sylvester.” Many pagan rites and superstitions are clearly present in today’s observances. And January 1 has been reserved historically for persecutions of Jews and Sabbath-keeping Christians. So, should we keep New Year’s Day?

“666—Die Zahl des Tieres in der Offenbarung,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. In English, the title is: “666—The Number of the Beast in Revelation.”

A new SW Talking Points program based on our booklet, “The Gospel of the Kingdom of God,” has been presented by Pastor Rene Messier. Here is a summary:

God wants His church to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God in all the world as a witness. But what is the Kingdom of God? Why is it so important that we understand the truth in this matter? What is the Gospel? When you hear the word Gospel, what comes to mind? Do you think of the gospel of grace? Do you think about the four gospel writers—Matthew, Mark, Luke and John? Do you think of the gospel about the person of Jesus Christ?

“The Joy of Sin,” the sermon given last Sabbath by Robb Harris, is now posted. Here is a summary:

“We are inundated with the concept that Christmas is the most joyful of all seasons. While many grasp to find some sort of joy, it is at most just a passing feeling. Real and lasting joy can only be understood and experienced while God is involved in our lives.”

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

On December 21, 2014, the NEWLY DESIGNED WEBSITE for the Church of the Eternal God and its affiliates became operational! This represents a major effort on the part of our volunteer technical team–led by Eric Rank. Please take the time to view and become familiar with our new format. We will continue to refine and build this site as we seek to effectively fulfill the commission given to us by Jesus Christ (http://www.eternalgod.org/).

On Friday evening, December 19, 2014, longtime member, Gilbert DeVaux (77), died. Gilbert lived in Jefferson, Oregon, and attended with brethren in Woodburn, Oregon. His faithful commitment to God’s calling remains an inspiring example to all of us.

“Pope Francis’ Fight with the Vatican,” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link, here is a summary:

It has been almost a recent routine by the Vatican to ignore, dispute or “clarify” something that Pope Francis has (allegedly) said. This includes statements about communism, homosexuality, divorce and remarriage, and whether animals go to heaven when they die. Pope Francis is also involving himself more and more in political affairs, such as the relationship between the USA and Cuba. His popularity is enormous, especially in Europe, due to his charming appearance. His most recent strong attack against the Curia has been described as “without historic precedent” and “one last warning before a direct confrontation.” A spokesman for the Vatican has also referred to him as a “prophet.” What can we expect to occur in the future? We offer two free booklets, “Do We Have an Immortal Soul?” and “Man’s Holidays or God’s Holy Days?”

“Leben wir in der Endzeit?,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. It is basically covering what we wrote in our Q&A on the terms “end time,” “last days,” etc., with special emphasis on the concept of a king of the south. Title in English: “Are We Living in the End Time?”

“Papst Franziskus im Kampf mit dem Vatikan,”  is the German version of the SW program described above, and it is also available on www.aufpostenstehen.de.

A new StandingWatch Talking Points program has been posted. In this presentation, Pastor Rene Messier reviews highlights from our booklet, “Old Testament Laws–Still Valid Today?”

“The Inner Man,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Dave Harris, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Christians are undergoing a profound change! It involves the renewing of how we think and behave, and it will lead to a transformation from mortal, fleshly existence into that of immortal, spirit life in the Family of God!

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

“The Christmas Myth-Exposed?,” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Both former Pope Benedict XVI and former Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, have questioned the accuracy of the Christmas “myth”-in particular the alleged time of Christ’s birth and the way in which the Nativity scene is commonly depicted. They claim that there were no animals present and that the wise men were not identified as three. There are of course many more Christmas assumptions and ideas which do not find support in the Bible. In this program, we show you what the Bible really says about Christmas and its customs, and we offer you a free reprint article about the wise men or “magi,” and our free booklet, “Don’t Keep Christmas.”

“Der Mythos des Weihnachtsfestes—Entlarvt?,” is the title of the German language program, which discusses the same topic as the SW mentioned above.

“Global Trailer–Angels, Demons and the Spirit World,” presented by Pastor Brian Gale, is now available for viewing.

“Die Propheten Hängen an der Liebe, Teil 2,” is the German sermon for this coming Sabbath. In English, the title is: “The Prophets Hang on Love, Part 2.”

“The Prophets Hang on Love, Part 1,” the sermon presented last Sabbath by Norbert Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

According to the words of Jesus, all the Law and the Prophets hang on the two great commandments of love towards God and love towards neighbor. In this sermon, we will show how the first four of the Ten Commandments are covered in the Prophets, emphasizing that God is our only God who prohibits the worship of idols and who enjoins us to hallow His name and His weekly and annual Sabbaths.

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

“Die Propheten Hängen an der Liebe, Teil 1,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. In English the title is: “The Prophets Hang on Love, Part 1.” Note that this sermon will also be presented by Norbert Link in English during this week’s Sabbath services.

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

Plans are being finalized for next year’s Church Conference beginning on March 20, 2015, and concluding on March 25, 2015. Also, we are finalizing ministerial assignments for the Spring Holy Days.

A new member letter has been written by Pastor Brian Gale. In this letter, Mr. Gale focuses on dramatic and prophetically significant events occurring in Europe–with special emphasis on Britain’s growing alienation with the European Union.

“Germany–the Predestined Leader of Europe” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

More and more news reporters realize that Germany is the leader of Europe, and that nothing goes without Angela Merkel, the “world’s most powerful woman” and the German “Chancellor of Europe.” The New Yorker and the Telegraph published insightful articles about Germany’s superpower status and the fact that Britain is a lame duck. Reference is also made to a “reconstituted Holy Roman Empire governed from Berlin” with “charisma and sanctity [to be] bestowed [on it]… by Rome.” All of this is in fulfillment of biblical prophecy. We are offering three free booklets, “Germany in Prophecy,” “Europe in Prophecy” and “The Ten European Revivals of the Ancient Roman Empire.”

“Ist Zungenreden biblisch?,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. Title in English: “Is Speaking in Tongues Biblical?”

“Den Standort Wechseln?” (vom 30. November 2014), a German translation of this week’s Editorial by Norbert Link, has been sent to members and subscribers and was posted on the German website.

Four new printed German booklets have been received from the printer. They will be distributed this Sabbath in Church services and sent to our subscribers next week. We will also begin to advertise them in our AufPostenStehen programs.

“Past, Present, Future,” the sermon from last Sabbath by Michael Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

The Bible shows us how the past, present and future all work together.  Through past examples for our own admonition, we can learn from them in our present lives by obeying God, so we can be counted worthy to make it in the future.

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

We are extending a special welcome to Thilo and Anita Hanstein, who are visiting our headquarters brethren in Ramona, California. Herr Hanstein is one of two recently ordained deacons serving in the German congregation, and he will be presenting a sermonette during this week’s Sabbath services.

“The Iranian Challenge,” is the title of a new StandingWatch program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

Talks on Iran’s nuclear program have been extended for seven months, giving Iran more time to develop a nuclear bomb. While Iran celebrates the extension as a victory and scoffs at Presiding Obama’s weakness, Israel is seriously considering a preemptive military strike against Iran. At the same time, Iran needs the support of the West against ISIS-not the other way around. The Bible shows that World War III will begin in the Middle East, and that Christ must and will return very soon to prevent mankind from annihilating all life on this planet and to usher in a beautiful new age of peace and freedom. We should be truly thankful to God for this. We are offering three free booklets: “Europe in Prophecy,” “The Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord,” and “Biblical Prophecy-From Now Until Forever.”

A German AufPostenStehen version of the program was also recorded and posted on the Web, titled, “Die Iranische Herausforderung.”

A new member letter by Norbert Link has been emailed to the German brethren and subscribers, explaining that a new contract was signed for the Feast site in Templin in 2015, and that hotel reservations can be made right away. We also stated in the letter that German translations of Dave Harris’ recent Q&A’s on Romans 16:17-18 were posted on the German website; and that we are in the process of printing four additional German booklets and translating two more English booklets.

Das ganze Gesetz Hängt an der Liebe,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. In English, the title is: “All the Law Hangs on Love.”

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

We would like to once again express our gratitude to our listeners and viewers who contacted us to thank us for the StandingWatch programs. In addition, here are some more written comments we have received:

“I’ve watched your videos for sometime and have been a long time subscriber on YouTube and the only thing I dislike about the following, is that there isn’t enough.  I pray that you keep posting more and more videos. I would like to get a copy of both Germany in Prophecy and The Fall and Rise of Britain and America. If there are any additional copies that would help me spiritually grow and become closer to the one true God. I would love to have them.”

Comment from Germany (translation):

“I wish you and your church much strength and God’s blessing, and that you carry on, even though Satan is angry. I also appreciate that you continue to proclaim the Family of God and that we are to become God beings. That is not proclaimed by anyone else, except by your church. And I do see your biblical foundation, you do not just state something. We will win, and Satan will fail.”

Original German:

“Wünsche ihnen und ihrer Kirche viel Kraft und Gottes Segen, durchzuhalten, auch wenn Satan tobt.

“Ein Lob auch, dass sie das mit der Familie Gottes weiter verkünden und das wir Gottwesen werden sollen. Das verkündet nämlich niemand, außer ihrer Kirche. Und ich sehe ihre biblische Grundlage, sie reden nicht irgendwas daher.

“Wir werden siegen, und Satan wird versagen!”

From the UK:

“This is a message of encouragement for you to continue with your weekly `Standing Watch` programme. Your broadcasts are a valuable resource for those seeking to understand God`s word on a deeper level. It provides an unbiased view of the direction world events are taking us in and how we can prepare for the desperate times that lie in the not too distant future. What you have to say is often hard-hitting and unapologetic in manner, but in our present climate where people have become so dull of hearing, a person speaking up for what is right has to do so with a measure of authority. This is an area where you excel as a speaker and its something you must always use to the best possible effect in connection with your audience…”

We received several comments via the phone, including from North Carolina, Ohio and Quebec, Canada, expressing appreciation for our StandingWatch programs and pleading with us to continue. Some stated that they use the programs for Bible studies, that they pass the video programs on to others or that they encourage others to watch them.

“Raising Children in a Godless Age,” is a new StandingWatch Program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

In a remarkable article, Billy Graham explains why so many children grow up with a “Do as you please” philosophy, and as a result, they are “running wild.” He emphasizes the need for discipline and a good parental example, but liberal concepts and unbiblical actions of Child Protecting Services are not helping. A shocking video shows what happens when parents lie to their children and when children grow up without proper supervision and training. The Bible warns us that in this day and age, children will rule over their parents. We are offering our free booklet, “The Keys to Happy Marriages and Families.”

“Satan’s Anger and the Fall of America and the UK,” is another new StandingWatch Program, also presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

The leadership of America and the UK is being severely attacked by the German media. Bild asked President Obama to “pack his bags and leave.” Die Zeit wrote that Premier “Cameron’s panic damages Europe.” The US strategy in Iraq and Syria against ISIS is widely questioned, if not condemned. All of this points to the rapid downfall of America and Britain, as prophesied in the Bible. But many do not like to hear this warning and are trying to suppress the truth. Satan is indeed very angry, as he knows that he has just a very short time left. We are offering two free booklets on this program.

“Warum Verlässt Man Gottes Kirche?,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. In English, the title is, “Why People Leave God’s Church.”

“You Are Here,” is the tile of last week’s sermon, presented by Eric Rank and is now posted. Here is a summary:

The progression of a Christian’s calling is transformative. We begin a journey and take steps forward along the way. Whether our path leads us closer to God or further astray, we need to honestly evaluate where we are in our journey, make adjustments, and continue pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

“Gods in Training,” a new TalkingPoints presentation by Pastor Rene Messier (2014 Feast of Tabernacles, Templin, Germany), is now posted.

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

A new member letter was written by Dave Harris. It will be sent out shortly. In the letter, Mr. Harris reminds us of the bad consequences of sin and disobedience, as well as the blessings for righteousness and obedience—collectively and individually. We will also enclose a copy of our new booklet, “When and How Will Christ Return?”

We would like to thank all of our listeners and viewers who called in to thank us for the StandingWatch programs. In addition, here are some of the recent written comments we have received:

“Dear Evangelist Norbert Link and the Eternal Church of God. I live in the Philippines and I have just listened to your latest video about the Mid-term Elections. I listen to all of your videos and have downloaded many of them. For me personally, because I do not know what others believe or even think, Standing Watch is the best of the best. Please inform Evangelist Norbert Link.”

“It saddens me to realize how completely we have been hoodwinked. Your work is very much needed. It’s life changing & saving.”

“Dear friends at the Church of the Eternal God. Thank you for the internet simulcast of the Sabbath, and God’s annual Holy Days services. I really appreciate the time, effort and costs that it takes to prepare your sermon and sermonettes etc. and the set-up of TV cameras and sound equipment etc. Thanks again!”

“Zion—Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. The title in English is, “Zion—Past, Present and Future.”

“Appreciating Our Salvation,” the sermon presented by Robb Harris last Sabbath, in now posted. Here is a summary:

We have been given a wonderful opportunity to become members of God’s Family. That opportunity does not come without cost. Christ died to pave a way for our Salvation and we can show our appreciation by living as He lived—fulfilling God’s Will.

Sermons from Brian Gale and Rene Messier, which were given at the Feast in Germany, were posted on the British and Canadian Websites. They are:

Rene Messier, (Talking Points) “Rebuilding and Reclamation”.

Brian Gale (Global Trailer), “Do We Truly Realize What is Ahead?” and, “What We Can Look Forward To!”

Preaching the Gospel and Feeding the Flock

“Mid-Term Elections—Victory or Defeat for America?,” is the title of a new StandingWatch Program, presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary:

The U.S. mid-term elections were held—with a stunning victory for the Republicans and an equally stunning defeat for the Democrats and the President. But even though the Republicans have gained the majority in the House and the Senate, will this drastically change the political landscape of America? Or are those correct who predict a “gridlock on steroids” for the next two years and warn that we are now facing the “two most dangerous years of America’s existence”? Why is it that others state that the fall of the Berlin Wall 25 years ago was the beginning of the end of the American Republic? This program gives you answers and offers our free booklet, “The Fall and Rise of Britain and America.” It also encourages our viewers and listeners to give us feedback to our programs in writing or via the telephone.

“Probleme mit Anderen Sind Lösbar!,” is the title of this week’s German sermon. In English, the title is, ”Probems with Others Can Be Solved.”

“The Sword of the Spirit,” the sermon from last Sabbath by Norbert Link, is now posted. Here is a summary:

Paul admonishes us to take the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. This is a vital part of the armor of God. Paul does not refer to a physical sword, and when we take the spiritual sword, we must know what God’s Word is; how God’s Spirit motivates us; and why we must speak and do the Word of God. Only then will (we) be able to conquer Satan and his servants.
