“The False Prophet and the Prince of Tyre'” is the title of a new StandingWatch program presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary: The Bible shows that in the not-too-distant future, a religious personage will appear under the influence of Satan the devil. He will be able to perform lying signs and wonders and deceive most people. He is also described as the man of sin in the letter of 2 Thessalonians, and as the prince of Tyre in the book of Ezekiel. God warns us not to fall for the evil devices of this demon-possessed individual.

“Der falsche Prophet und Simon der Zauberer,” is the German version of the above program. Also presented by Mr. Link, this is available at http://www.aufpostenstehen.de/.

“Neu! Der Brief an die Hebräer, Teil 6,” is the title of the new German sermon. This continuing series on the letter to the Hebrews is Part 6. It covers the second half of chapter 11. Title in English: “New! The Letter to the Hebrews, Part 6.”
 
This past Sunday morning (May 26, 2013), a ministerial conference was conducted via SKYPE. This was the first of what is planned to be a monthly event. In addition, a Tech Team meeting was also held utilizing SKYPE on Sunday evening. Plans are underway to redesign our webpages, and several preliminary steps have begun in this process. Eric Rank is leading this project.

We have now added an introduction and sign-off to the StandingWatch video prorams–the same ones now used in our radio broadcasts. Michael Link is the voice behind this, and we are currently developing a similar component for the German language programs.

“Why the Triangle of Scandals?,” is a recent StandingWatch program presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary: For the first time in the history of the United States, a sitting president is confronted with three major scandals at the same time-involving Benghazi, the IRS and the Justice Department. But many more scandals exist. Why is this country facing such insurmountable and unfixable problems? The answer is of a spiritual nature, which most are unwilling to consider.

Satan will give him the power to perform lying signs and wonders. One forerunner was Simon Magus, an influential sorcerer from Samaria, who was confronted by the Apostle Peter, as mentioned in Acts 8. This program gives interesting facts about Simon Magus’ demonic powers, and explains who was really the first bishop of Rome.
 
“Neu! Der Brief an die Hebräer, Teil 5,” is the new German sermon, continuing our series on the letter to the Hebrews. It covers chapter 10 and part of chapter 11. Title in English: “New! The Letter to the Hebrews, Part 5.”

“The Doctrine of the Laying on of Hands,” is the sermon from this past Sabbath. Here is a summary: In Hebrews 6, the doctrine of the laying on of hands is described as one of the elementary or foundational teachings of God. Sadly, most people do not understand what this doctrine means, and how it is to be applied. This sermon explains this very important teaching from the pages of your Bible.

“Real Change Through the Holy Spirit,” is the title of the Pentecost sermon given by Mr. Link. This is available for viewing on our website and on YouTube–here is a summary: God gives us His Holy Spirit so that we can change and become different persons. We must engage in this process of change on a continuous basis. This sermon gives several points as to how to do this, to guarantee that we will inherit eternal life in the Kingdom of God.

In his monthly newsletter to the German-speaking members and others who are interested, Norbert Link discusses weekly Sabbath services and the preparations for the Feast of Tabernacles in the Black Forest, and addresses the importance of opening and closing prayers and the Church’s understanding as to its role and function. “Antiochus Epiphanes and the End-Time Beast,” is the title of our new StandingWatch program presented by Evangelist Norbert Link. Here is a summary: The book of Daniel speaks about an ancient ruler, Antiochus Epiphanes, who is to be viewed as a forerunner of the end-time beast, mentioned in the book of Revelation. When reviewing the brutal and blasphemous acts of Antiochus, we should be able to see what the future military leader of Europe will do.

“Neu! Der Brief an die Hebräer, Teil 3,” is a new German sermon, continuing our series on the letter to the Hebrews. It covers chapters 6 and 7. Title in English: “New! The Letter to the Hebrews, Part 3.”

“Neu! Der Brief an die Hebräer, Teil 4,” is the newest German sermon, for Pentecost, continuing our series on the letter to the Hebrews. It covers chapters 8 and 9. Title in English: “New! The Letter to the Hebrews, Part 4.”

We have purchased translation equipment for the Feast of Tabernacles in Germany, and we have also ordered a banner in German. In addition, hard copies of our German booklet on the Gospel of the Kingdom of God are being printed. Live services will be conducted in Germany on the Sabbath and on Pentecost. Sermonettes will be given by Christoph Sperzel and Thilo Hanstein, and video-recorded sermons by Norbert Link on the letter to the Hebrews, Parts 3 and 4, will be played.  Those unable to attend will participate via Skype.

“The Son of Man and of God,” is the title of the sermon given by Norbert Link this past Sabbath–here is a summary: Who was Jesus Christ when He was here on earth? Was He a Man? What He God? Was He the Son of Man and the Son of God? Was He fully God and fully Man? Was Jesus really dead? Did the Son of God die? Did Jesus overcome sin in the flesh? Was He God before He came to this earth? Is He God today? Is He our only Mediator between God the Father and man? Why was all judgment given to Him? Is it man’s potential to become God? Is the Trinity doctrine wrong—both the Greek Orthodox as well as the Roman Catholic version? What is the teaching of antichrist? 

“Neu! Der Brief an die Hebräer, Teil 2,” is this week’s German sermon. It is part 2 of the new series on Hebrews and covers chapters 3-5. The title in English is: “The Epistle to the Hebrews, Part 2.”

The memorial service on Wednesday, April 24, for Mrs. Gertrude Sage (who died on March 23, 2013) began at 11 AM and was held at the VFW Pacific Beach, 853 Turquoise Street, San Diego, CA 92109-1127. Mrs. Sage was born October 13, 1927, and had been a baptized member of the Church of God for almost 19 years.

Mr. Sage’s children provided food after the morning memorial service. The afternoon funeral service (Internment) started at 2:30 pm and took place at 1800 Cabrillo Memorial Dr, San Diego, CA 92106.

Evangelist Norbert Link conducted both services, which were attended by Mr. Ralph Sage and many of Mr. and Mrs. Sage’s family members as well as members of the Church of the Eternal God and the United Church of God.

He also reminds us of the sobering truth of the meaning of world events–all of which are very clearly pointing to the imminent return of Jesus Christ!

“Neu! Der Brief an die Hebräer,” is the title of this week’s new German sermon. It’s part of a new series and covers chapters 1 and 2 of the letter to the Hebrews. Title in English: “The Epistle to the Hebrews.”

The yearly conference of the Church of the Eternal God, Global Church of God (United Kingdom) and Church of God a Christian Fellowship (Canada) was conducted starting April 12 and continued through April 16. Meetings and activities were held in Fort Collins, Colorado.

During the weekly Sabbath, three men were ordained, and we are pleased to announce that Kalon Mitchell of Ramona, California, was ordained to the office of deacon; Michael Link of Ramona, California, was ordained to the office of elder; and Robb Harris of Fort Collins, Colorado, was also ordained to the office of elder.

We will announce more details about our very successful conference in our next monthly member letter.

A recent AufPostenStehen program recored by Evangelist Norbert Link and titled “Deutschland und Amerika in der Prophezeiung,” has received an unusally high level of interest! This German language program has received more than 5,200 views on YouTube in just two weeks time.

“Jesus Christus, der Menschensohn!,” is the title of a new German sermon, which deals with Christ’s first coming as the Son of man. “Jesus Christ, the Son of Man!,”  is the English translation, and this is part of a series. The next installment will discuss Jesus as the Son of God and also address the false doctrine of the Trinity.

Mr. Link recorded five sermons while in Germany. Two have been posted. The first one is titled, “Die Doktrin des Händeauflegens.” This sermon addresses the topic of the laying on of hands and explains the purpose for and different biblical examples of laying on of hands.

The second sermon is titled “Hoffnung und Trost im Leiden” (“Hope and Comfort in Suffering”). It discusses Psalm 22 and its relevance for us today.

We are pleased to announce the baptism of Barbara Jones of Salyer, California. While attending services in Woodburn, Oregon, our minister visiting from Canada, Mr. Rene Messier, conducted the baptism.

The yearly conference of the Church of the Eternal God, Global Church of God (Great Britain) and Church of God a Christian Fellowship (Canada) will be conducted starting April 12 and continuing through April 16. Meetings and activities will be held in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Passover Services will be observed Sunday evening, March 24, 2013, after sunset; the following evening (Monday evening, March 25) is the Night To Be Much Observed, which is the beginning of the First Day of Unleavened Bread (Tuesday, March 26th). The last Holy Day of Unleavened Bread will be observed on Monday, April 1st. (beginning Sunday at sunset, March 31). The Feast of Tabernacles in Germany will be held this year at the Hotel Birkenhof, Wildbaderstrasse 95, 72250 Freudenstadt. (Info@birkenhof-Freudenstadt.de). We have booked a hall and would recommend that attendees would also book accommodation at the hotel.   However, the hotel is booked out so that no direct bookings can be made at this point.  Nevertheless, bookings can still be made  through certain agencies.
