The Road Ahead
Dave Harris | October 30, 2004
We have set before us the incomparable goal of eternal life in God’s Kingdom, but sometimes we don’t consider what we will have to deal with in the interim. Three keys for staying the course in our calling are: Expect problems on the road ahead, and deal with them; Walk with God as you travel the road ahead; Travel the road ahead–don’t quit until you are finished.
Balanced Christian Living
Norbert Link | October 23, 2004
As followers of Christ, we are to have a sound and balanced mind. We must avoid extremes. We are warned not to behave overly righteous, nor to be become wicked. I would like to discuss today several areas of life, including the consumption of alcohol, smoking, drugs, premarital sex, marriage and divorce, as well as music, television, movies and the internet. While we are never to smoke, engage in premarital sex, or divorce for wrong reasons, parents must still have a right, balanced approach to teach their children how to make right decisions. In other areas, parents must avoid to establish too rigorous and restrictive rules.
Your Relationship with God
Edwin Pope | October 16, 2004
God is interested in your life! Once He decides to call a person to His Way – that person becomes of special interest to Him. That’s the reason, as we see God calling Noah, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to His Way we find a considerable amount of detail concerning their lives in His inspired Word! No doubt, that is the reason God inspired Mr. Herbert Armstrong to write the Autobiography of his life. These recorded summaries are important for us to understand, as we look to these men as examples in our pursuit of obedience in God’s Way!
The Work of God
Dave Harris | October 9, 2004
Modern day disciples of Jesus Christ are to do the work of God. Jesus specifically commissioned His followers to continue working after His death and resurrection. That assignment continues to our day, and it will succeed us. The work of God involves preaching about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the fact that He will return to this earth. This good news must be proclaimed in confident boldness–just as the original apostles, elders and brethren did.
The Last Great Day – 2004
Edwin Pope | October 7, 2004
There are many days noted in Scripture which one could refer to as great. But this day – God refers to as the Last Great Day! Why?
This day pictures a time – yet in the future – when all of mankind who never understood the Plan of God – will receive Understanding and an opportunity to become future Children of God!
The Far Future
Dave Harris | October 7, 2004
God has a purpose in mind for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do in the future. Beyond the immediate horizon of God’s Holy Days’ plan lies the far future in which tens of billions of human beings will have been made immortal and who will be like Jesus Christ! Biblical evidence reveals a future creation that will be composed of spirit and one that will continue to increase into an unending future-forever and ever!
A Whole New World
Rene Messier (Canada) | October 5, 2004
An outline of the problems facing the world today and an evaluation of the crisis facing humanity in the near future contrasted against what will be our part in the government in the world tomorrow ruling with and under Christ.
How To Overcome
Dave Harris | October 5, 2004
Overcoming takes great diligence and constant vigilance, and it is a lifelong process for Christians.
We must make a choice to follow either good or evil. The most important key to our being able to overcome to make our stand before we sin–not after! This is the way in which Jesus Christ, though tempted in all points as we are, overcame sin to become our Savior.
Suffer the Little Children
Rene Messier (Canada) | October 3, 2004
The need to emulate the attitude of a little child in order to qualify to enter the kingdom of God. Following the Example of Christ how he picked up little children and layed hands on them and blessed them. Seven points given.
A Time of Peace
Edwin Pope | October 2, 2004
Jesus Christ foretold of historic events which were to occur toward the time of the end of this age. What we are seeing today is the beginning of these events – the beginning of sorrows. Leaders of the world continually talk of peace. But God shows in His Word that men do not know the way to peace. Yet God does reveal a time of peace which He will usher in – in His own time!
Staying Focused
Rene Messier (Canada) | October 1, 2004
The need to stay focused and not be distracted by the world and remain faithful in our Prayer, Bible study, Fasting and Meditation. Also the other aspect of Preaching and Publishing the Gospel to the world as a witness.
The Feast of Tabernacles – Significance For Us
Edwin Pope | September 30, 2004
Once Christ establishes His Kingdom on the earth, the world will become a “Paradise” as it was prior to Adam’s and Eve’s rebellion against God and His Way in the day they followed the voice of Satan. The earth will be filled with the Knowledge of God and His Way in That Day, and God’s Spirit will fill the earth, being available to all who desire God’s Way.
Feast Of Tabernacles – Opening Night
Edwin Pope | September 29, 2004
The Scripture speaks of a better resurrection. These days of the Feast of Tabernacles relate to those who will have a part in that better resurrection, that resurrection being a resurrection to life! This feast is also a time of rejoicing because of what God will do on the earth at the time pictured by these days.
The Unpardonable Sin
Norbert Link | September 25, 2004
What is the unpardonable sin? Orthodox Christianity does not provide you with any true answers. Some even deny that this concept is taught in the Bible. But God clearly reveals that there is an unpardonable sin — a sin which cannot and will not be forgiven by God. It is quite different, though, from what most people think. However, it is a deadly serious matter, and you need to know the answer to this important question.
The Glory of God
Norbert Link | September 20, 2004
Jesus Christ asked us to remember in our prayers that the glory is God’s forever. Why is it important to have this truth clearly in mind, when we approach our Father in prayer? What should we be thinking and meditating about? Does God’s glory have anything to do with our future? And if so, what is it? The truth is in fact more wonderful than most could even imagine.
Trumpets – What It Means To Us!
Edwin Pope | September 16, 2004
The Feast of Trumpets portends a time of refreshing! The troubles of this world come head-on with the God of this universe – The Almighty Eternal God! Mankind does not know the way to peace, but the culmination of the events pictured by this Day will result in peace on earth!
Such Great Faith
Dave Harris | September 11, 2004
In light of what many scriptures say, we find that bold, empowering faith is rare! Jesus forewarned that many would be lukewarm and that many would be weak in faith. Having more faith is a critical necessity for Christians. We can increase in faith in the following ways: understand what faith is; act in faith; continue in faith; have balanced faith; test faith; fight for faith; and, win with faith.
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Norbert Link | September 4, 2004
What do we mean, when we use the words, “Hallowed Be Thy Name?” God has many names — so what are we expressing when we ask that God’s name be hallowed? What is meant by “hallowed”? In other places, the Greek and Hebrew words are translated as “sanctified,” or “be holy.” We are to sanctify or treat as holy the things that God has made holy; if we profane them, we profane God. We hallow God, when we live holy lives; and we profane God, and give others occasion to scoff and blaspheme, when we break His Word, thereby profaning God.
With All Boldness
Edwin Pope | August 28, 2004
Throughout the Holy Scriptures we find stories of men of great boldness, living their lives and instructing others to live according to God’s Way of life. Down through time, right up to and including this day in which we find ourselves living, many have been called to live their lives according to this Way, in boldness, thus setting an example for others as God continues to choose disciples of the Way.
The Greatest of These
Dave Harris | August 21, 2004
Love takes work, and the incomparable love of both the Father and the Son is their work. I Corinthians 13 identifies love as the geatest of gifts, and the elements of love described in this chapter are also a description of God’s love. It is revealed that God is love, and the Word of God further explains that we are to love as God loves.
