In this human lifetime, it seems that we wait for so many things to happen: an appointment with the dentist and a concert that we are looking forward to, and as followers of the Creator, we await the return of Jesus Christ and the institution of the Kingdom. There are times when waiting is especially difficult. Perhaps we are waiting to heal from a health issue, or a situation in our lives and our jobs in which we must rely solely on God for resolution. This can be trying for us, but we know that we can rely on God, and His Word to strengthen us. In this Sermonette we will cover Scriptures that are relevant to this very human challenge—learning to place the situation in God’s hands and not in our limited, carnal human potential.

Why and how does the Bible contradict and reject the Evolution concept, and why are many occurrences in the animal world unexplainable mysteries for Evolution-believing scientists? How does God feel about cross breeding? What is parthenogenesis, and what might be the reason for its existence? Can animals choose not to reproduce? Are we still obliged to refrain from eating the meat of “unclean animals”? Are we to refrain from eating meat altogether? Is it true that God does not care about oxen?

Without knowing where we are headed, we will lose our way in this world. If we are not fully focused on serving God, we are not following Christ’s command to “seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.” That is our guiding light, and all of our actions can and must fall under that way
of thinking.

Building a sandcastle can be wonderfully peaceful and relaxing, but it can also be frustrating if your aim is designing a structure that is enduring and beautiful. The perfect sandcastle can never be achieved, and similarly, God’s true church is entirely dependent on the structure that He has created. In this Sermonette we will cover scriptures that can aid in our understanding of the importance of clinging to God’s commandments and interweaving this with our relationships with one another as members of His Church. This is essential in order for the Church to thrive and the work to be done.

Our identity forms the foundation upon which we build our character, experience our life, and guide our behavior. Most of the time, we will instinctively make judgments to be consistent with our identity. Our moral and spiritual compass points in the direction that leads us to become who we choose to be. By firmly establishing our identity as Christians, we have Jesus Christ as our guide, to learn righteousness and lead us to become glorified members of God’s family.

The term death grip refers to having a really tight hold on something and not letting go. Spiritually speaking, what is it that we need to hold on to firmly making sure that we don’t lose it?

Why are certain animals at times very cruel? Why do ferocious predators exist?  Did God create them that way? Why are we plagued today with mosquitoes, poisonous snakes or even killer bees? What do we learn from the Bible about God’s dealing with animals in this present day and age? How does God communicate with animals today? What role will animals play in the end time and beyond?

Joy is a part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. But how can we be joyful in a time of great distress. The examples in the Bible show that people like Christ, Paul and David experienced joy, not because of their present circumstances but because they looked toward the Kingdom of God, when everything will be changed.

The world is heading towards total destruction and annihilation due to sin and unrighteousness. The effects of sin and not dealing with it are shown in this sermon.

The Feast of Pentecost stands out as having a focus on firstfruits. When established in the time of Moses, the firstfruits were from the grain harvest. Following the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the relevance of firstfruits shifts to the elect in Christ. We review the references to firstfruits in the Bible, and delve into the question of why firstfruits are important in the plan of God.

Going above and beyond what is expected or making a bigger effort than what is required certainly has application for Christians! Are we profitable servants in this regard? Do we serve God in extra ways?

God tells us to consider many things in the Bible that are advantageous for us to think carefully about. This message looks at the firefly and is a physical example that can help us to see the bigger picture.

What is the connection between the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the Ten Commandments? What roles do the spiritually circumcised heart and the crucifixion of the old man and the creation of the new man play in all of this? Who or what is the new man, and what is the function of God’s Holy Spirit of power in the re-creation of converted Christians? And how can we be sure that we will be in God’s Kingdom?

People are about to face the end of this age and the unprecedented events revealed in the Word of God. Are you watching and will you be among the very, very few who be judged ready for what is coming?

Having the right kind of faith is a prerequisite to living a life that pleases God and a requirement for salvation. On the face of it, one might think that the importance of faith means that it is an attribute reserved for the most serious of situations. However, faith in God to carry out His will ought to penetrate every single aspect of our lives – even in the seemingly small and insignificant events.

What can we glean from the coronation of King Charles III, including the stone of destine; the veneration of the cross; and the role of the Catholic Church? What lessons can we draw from the burning of books in Nazi Germany in 1933? Why did the Prime Minister of Hungary compare the EU’s European unification project with Adolf Hitler’s plans for rule? Why does it appear that the French-American relations have become hostile again? And what is to be said about existing or coming conscription in Russia, Ukraine and the USA to get soldiers to serve, kill and die for their country?

Why is it necessary to repent, turn around, change our way of thinking and become a totally new creation? True repentance, in leaving behind our “dead works,” is oftentimes not that easy.  To admit that one has done wrong or has been wrong, can be terribly difficult. The same is true when we are called upon to admit that we are not as righteous as we had thought to be. But God commands us to repent and to return to Him; to reject the broad way of the world, leading to condemnation and death; and to choose and walk instead the small and narrow way, leading to eternal life.

How does God view age? From young to old – God has things to say! What does He consider important in relationship to how we view our age? How can we use our time here wisely?

Do we desire to be first, to run the race worthy of obtaining the prize?  What is required of us to achieve this?

If everyone on earth kept just one of God’s Ten Commandments the whole world would be so very much better for doing that and what a difference it would make.   But when Jesus Christ sets up the Kingdom of God on earth, all 10 of the Commandments will be kept and the world will be a completely different place – and so much better for it!
